travel: the chinese & their one-of-a-kind food

My latest travel post was about China, but who can post about China without mentioning its wonderfully crazy & delicious food? Here’s to fried scorpions, starfish, beetles (that taste like chocolate, but I promise are actually beetles…at least they were crunchy…), duck liver and more!


  1. The coconut drinks are actually not really exclusive to China–the water of young coconuts (like the ones in the picture) is actually a very popular drink in Southeast Asia because of its supposed cooling properties. I also see you must have tried Peking duck. The last time I went to China my classmates and I had Peking duck at one of the country’s most renown restaurants, and all the duck was polished off in less than half an hour!
