Are you the kind of person who loves breakfast but never has the time to enjoy it? Well, fret not my friend, for we have a quick and nice breakfast item you can make the night before. In fact, it’s something Annie and I make all the time – Strawberry and Blueberry Overnight Oats!
Overnight oats are an awesome and easy make-ahead breakfast that takes only about five minutes to make. Moreover, it’s packed with fiber and protein to give you not only a tasty meal but also a nutritious breakfast! While this is our favorite recipe, don’t feel pressured to copy it exactly! There are tons of variations for you to try, and we’re looking for some new ones to make as well!

Recipe:
½ cup of rolled oats (gluten free as needed) ¾ cup of almond milk (or your favorite milk) 2 teaspoons of chia seeds ¼ cup of chopped strawberries ¼ cup of blueberries 1-2 teaspoons of honey (or another sweetener) A handful of almonds or pecans or your favorite nut 2-3 tablespoons of Greek yogurt 1-2 tablespoons of your favorite nut butter (ours is peanut butter)
Instructions:
- Add oats, chia seeds, sweetener and almond milk together in a resealable container – a mason jar or bowl.
- Mix the jar’s items either by shaking it or combing the ingredients with a spoon.
- Add nuts, nut butter and Greek yogurt to the jar.
- Mix to your heart’s content.
- Top with strawberries and blueberries.
- Chill in the fridge for at least 4 hours or overnight.
And viola!! You can enjoy these overnight oats cold or warm them up in the microwave, but regardless, there you have a healthy and delicious breakfast item or snack.
These oats have been a lifesaver for Annie and me. When we’re in a morning rush, we can always rely on overnight oats for morning sustenance. If we’re hungry in the middle of the workday, we can always count on the oats as a nice snack. Lastly, if we’re feeling indulgent, the oats are something we don’t have to feel guilty about eating. And we have them readily available because of the wonders of meal prep! So go give these overnight oats a try and tell us about them!!
