restaurant review: first watch

First Watch is my go-to place when I’m hanging out with friends or family and want to grab breakfast/brunch/lunch. They’re scattered around Texas, and you can find them in Austin, College Station, Houston and more.

While I won’t pin them as one of my top brunch spots, particularly if you have other options in Austin or Houston, I will say I enjoy stopping by here with my parents back in College Station. The food is good for its price, and quite reminiscent of the popular, healthy, trendy restaurants in other towns.

Depending on the location, you can expect about 30 minutes of wait at peak time. And — if it’s your first time at First Watch, you can sign up for a buy one, get one free entree deal here. So grab a friend, and stop by for a quick and healthy meal!

Tri-Athlete: Egg white omelet with house-roasted Crimini mushrooms, onions, tomatoes and green chillies. Served with housemade pico de gallo, whole grain artisan toast, all-natural house preserves and fresh fruit.

Power Wrap: Egg whites, turkey, spinach, house-roasted Crimini mushrooms and Mozzarella in a sun-dried tomato-basil tortilla. Served with fresh fruit and a side of housemade pico de gallo.
