Salty Sow has quickly become one of our favorite happy hour locations. As they advertise themselves, Salty Sow is an American Gastropub that serves contemporary farmhouse fare located fairly near campus on Manor Road.
We’re BIG chicken people: chicken and waffles, chicken and biscuits, just chicken, fried chicken, we love it all. So we’re always on the lookout for more chicken places around town, and when my roommate started raving about this new place called Bird Bird Biscuit, you bet we immediately hopped into our car the next morning for an early brunch.
Kerbey Lane is Austin’s staple 24-hour restaurant, known for its breakfast items (specifically, incredible pancakes) & queso.
Austin (and really, Texas in general) is known for its famous BBQ spots, such as Franklin’s (where lines can get up to seven hours long), Stiles Switch, and Iron Works.
Bouldin Creek Cafe is probably my new favorite restaurant in Austin. I briefly mentioned it in one of my other Explore Austin posts, but I feel like I should do a separate post just on this cafe to do it justice.
This summer, I’m spending my time here in Austin to do some research, but of course, now there’s no longer any school/homework for me to worry about, I can actually go and explore Austin on the weekends!
