Nestled north of the Texas Medical Center and by Midtown Park, Kanau Sushi is a contemporary Japanese restaurant that offers lots of intriguing and eccentric items.
Cafes come in all shapes and sizes, but no matter where you go, you want to find a cafe for its life-enhancing food and coffee. And Dandelion Cafe is certainly one of those cafes!
Lucille’s is a tribute to a legacy of culinary excellence started almost a century ago; they “specialize in well-refined Southern cuisine with infusions of international techniques and flavors.” They were spot on to say the least.
Portland holds a special place in our heart. It was our first HMHS trip together, and boi, was it a good one. The food was spectacular; the views and weather were phenomenal; and needless to say, the covfefe amazeballs. So we decided to come back after our first year in med school and grad school. We saw the old coffee shop we loved, but we were also eager to try others. And this is it -- our top coffee shops in the PDX. Hope you enjoy it!
When we tasted Cheater's Creamery ice cream, the words that came to mind were “intense, sharp and lovely.” That’s right; Cheater’s Creamery has ice cream that immediately pops and shines with flavor and pizzazz. It reminded me of the iconic comic book punchlines, like “Bam! Boom! Zap!” Enough references though, I’m sure you guys wanna know about the actual ice cream 😂.
Handies Douzo is an intimate sushi spot that is great for dates. They focus on the exquisite hand roll; basically, it’s a sushi roll wrapped in nori, but uncut, so you get to dive into the entirety of a sushi roll. And it is so good and so difficult to not just scarf down the entire roll.
Nestled in a nice spot in River Oaks, Armandos is “fashioned after 1920s’ Mexico City; it features classic Mexican fare with a nod to La Buenda Vida.” A style like that makes you know you’re living the good life whenever you dine at Armandos.
The motto of Fearing’s is ‘BOLD FLAVORS. NO BORDERS.’ And I can say I agree with that 100%.
After dining here a few times, I can confidently say that Nobu has some nice food, but I am not going to lie to you - Nobu is a straight-up DINING EXPERIENCE.
Flower & Cream - now a name like that just makes you think of something subtle and understated, doesn’t it? But trust me, the Artisan Ice Cream from Flower & Cream is jam packed with flavor and size. Annie and I first stumbled upon Flower & Cream one quiet night in Houston, and we were just craving for ice cream. We found a nice ice cream shop with good reviews that was also close to the Texas Medical Center, so we decided to give it a try.
